About 48V Easybox configurator

Please feel free to use the configurator to try out the various system combinations available.

You can learn more about the advantages of a Fischer Panda electric drive system with a personal consultation. Without such, it is not possible to make a direct price comparaison with other manufacturers.

Due to the nature of these systems, your vessel and installation location - we will have to contact you by telephone to clarify details before sending you suitable system / price offers by email. Therefore it is important that you provide us with a contact telephone number.

Please specify in the comments field which times are suitable to call you.

Seven easy steps

1. Choose your boat type

2. Select the drive type

3. Select the drive performance and number of drives

4. Choose battery type (standard or Lithium)

5. Helmstand options

6. Select other options according to your configuration choices

7. Send to us and we'll get in contact with you

Step 1: Please choose your type of boat.

Monohull, Multihull (catamaran or trimaran). Based on this and your estimated displacement, the configuator will attempt to calculate drives which may be suitable.

Monohulls (Motorboat)

  • Single drive or dual drives are usually fitted
  • Drive is main cruising source
  • Hull form may be designed to achieve planing

Monohulls (Motoryacht)

  • Single drive usually fitted midships
  • Drive may only be required when not sailing
  • Drive may only be required for entering/leaving port.

Catamarans

  • Two drives can be installed (one in each hull)
  • Dual drives can supply twice as much power.
  • Battery Banks and generator can be installed in separate in hulls.

Step 2: Select the type of drive you are planning to install

Parallel Hybrid

  • Parallel hybrid drives mount onto an existing shaft on boats with a traditional engine.
  • Extremely easy to install with no modification to engine or shaft.
  • Perfect when far less power is required for maneuvering than the main engine would provide. Most ships enignes do not operate in the low engine speed range.

Podded drives

  • Podded drives are completely submersed underwater and only require a basic cooling system.
  • Podded drives can be incorporated into a rotable mountings increasing manouverability.
  • The depth of the podded drive's post can be adjusted to suit water depth (shallow waters)

Shaft Drives

  • Shaft drives are easy to install/maintain because all the components are fitted inside the vessel.
  • Larger shaft drives can be installed without major mounting / weight considerations as they are mounted on the hull floor.
  • The shaft drive doesn't make a significant change to the hull profile which may be important for racing yachts.

Step 3: Select a system setup

Systems available - based on your boat's type and power requirements.

Some considerations for selecting a drive system with limited or sufficient performance

  • You are mostly travelling on inland waterways with little or no current
  • The drive system is only being used for short periods to navigate in/out of the harbour (sailingyachts)
  • You only require a drive as a backup system

Consideration when chosing a system with sufficient or which exceeds performance

  • Your boat is cruising in waters with strong currents
  • You require continious performance to cruise for sustained periods
  • You need higher speeds (and/or planing) speeds - coast guard / customs / racing

.

Step 4: Battery Type

Please select either the type of battery bank you are planning to install

Some considerations about choosing a location for the battery bank:

  • Lithium or standard (AGM/Gel/2Volt) 48V battery bank.
  • We recommend a single battery bank for powering both single and dual drive setups.
  • It is possible to have a battery bank for each individual drive if a redundant setup is required.
  • Generally, the drive system's 48 V battery bank comprises of 2V / 12V / 24V cells.

Typical Battery bank configurations

  • Single main bank (one bank can power multiple drives)
  • Two banks (one for each drive) together in the same room
  • Two banks (one for each drive) each bank in a seperate room / hull

Step 5: Control System

Please choose the type of operator display

Step 6: System Options

Please select additional options (more than one may be selected)

Not just a 'basic' drive system

The Hybrid drive system is not just a drive system. A wide range of modules are available to extend monitoring and control options onboard. The actual number of modules required can be determined at a later stage.
